getting started in heavy hauling

    Up here, we run 8-axle B-trains all over the place and they are licensed for 63,500 kg (140,000 lbs). They're not what I would consider "heavy haul." When I think of heavy haul, I think of the very oversized and/or overweight loads.

    Ya, you and I are thinking alike, but when you talk to a dryvan driver, a lot of them have a hard time believing our loads are more than their max gross.
    Now when you get into those "Schnaubel" type trailers, I think that's what they're called, that would be heavy haul with out a doubt.:yes2557:

    Your trucks are called extended weight permitted trucks. Super permits are HH. But @ 70ton you might as well be HH. Just the trailers aren't really HH. RGN trailers are more thought of as HH. A small local or off road HH would be 7-8 axle. Highway HH double goose necks w/ boosters and jeeps run +100tons with 10 foot wide decks. Nothing like looking in your mirror and seeing that hi-trac D-10 blade shinning in the sun and it's right behind you..............
