First off, I'd like to thank everyone here in the Prime forums for all of the continuous helpful advice. I've been reading along for nearly a year, now. It has become my pre sleep ritual. I can't even read the forums during the day, as it is my educational 'comfort' before I doze off.
I've been contemplating the career for most of my life, and things have recently fallen in place to make it all work out. I am 34 years old, live in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, no criminal history, and only a seat belt violation on my MVR.
Last night I filled out the application and spoke with Julie in recruiting this afternoon. The only bump in the road thus far is that I transferred my license from out of state to TN just over three years ago and I cannot seem to find my previous license number anywhere. I spent hours today scouring the internet trying to find a service which could help with this, to no avail. Thus far it looks as though I will have to mail a notarized letter to Illinois and Ohio and wait 14-21 days for their (hopeful) reply. This is putting me a bit behind schedule to get to training, but it seems it might be the only way. If anyone has any other ideas please share.
Thanks again for all of your assistance, and I look forward to meeting many of you on the road.
Getting started with Prime... Application last night, first recruiter call today.

Milan Express and R.E. West are Tennessee based companies with CDL schools. Probably be easier to deal with them on this issue.

Thanks for the advice!!

Any DMV office in any city of your previous state can provide that...but you will have to go in person with two forms of I.D.TNhellbilly Thanks this.

yep what White dog said..go down to your local d.m.v...ask for a 5 or 10 year print out and pay the little fee and all your info should be there that you need..good luck!
TNhellbilly Thanks this. -
If you save your insurance paperwork from prior years for your personal vehicle it many times will list the drivers on the policy and the DL number or call whoever you had your insurance with at the time and they would probably give it to you, especially if your still with the same company....just a thought.
TNhellbilly Thanks this. -
The 10 year printout I had from my local DMV had the transfer information on it, which included the out of state license information. Of course, that could vary by state.
You should get a copy of your 10 year record every couple of years and check it for errors, just like you should check your credit report.TNhellbilly Thanks this. -
Yep like everyone else said. 10 year MVR will have the info. Here in Texas I got mine online and printed it at home. No long line.

It doesn't matter where he goes, that previous license number will be required by TN in order to apply for a CDL. It's part of the federal requirements for a commercial license to prevent drivers from maintaining licenses from multiple states. Prime wants that number to pull the license records from the previous state to make sure the OP isn't hiding a bad driving record.newbietrucker007 and TNhellbilly Thank this.

Thanks for all the help, everyone.
I got an idea and called a good friend who owns a pizza place, he was able to run my info (as he does with prospective drivers) and get my numbers for me. I was alerted to a couple parking violations I had forgotten about, as well.
The issue with the insurance company was that Progressive claimed that they don't have records over 3 years old and I currently use Tennessee Farm /Bureau who only accepts and researches Tennessee MVR. My next step definitely would have been having my 10 year MVR pulled from my local DMV. Aside from that, I was unable to get to Ohio or Illinois personally due to my current budget, so my third step would have been to go via USPS.
Again, I thank you all for your advice and would love any other advice you're willing to impart me with!
