On a side note, I live at the top of a mountain just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and we were snowed in last night. Had to park down the highway and walk the night before... so I decided to go find the TN CDL Permit handbook online. The first thing I stumbled on to was the practice test, I thought I may as well give it a run through, 51 questions from the test, I got an 80%. 41 correct, 10 incorrect. Too close for my comfort, but that is with zero knowledge of professional driving, and only having studied forums and YouTube. I have a LOT of studying to do!!
Getting started with Prime... Application last night, first recruiter call today.

Got the call from Julie today... She asked me to come on out this coming Monday, but I couldn't do it.
I came down with an abcessed wisdom tooth this past week and my appointment isn't until the 13th. She put me down for a tentative start of the 18th of February. I sure hope I can make it!!! I'm not allowed any pain meds for the tooth if they opt to extract it. That could be lots of fun! Ha! -
Get that taken care before you go. Once on the road, that sort of problem is harder to deal with.
TNhellbilly and JimmyBones Thank this. -
Looks like I'll be headed for orientation February 26th!
baha Thanks this. -
Glad to hear. It's all up to you now. Good luck!

Went to get my CDL Permit today at the local friendly Tennessee DMV...
Denied!!! Tennessee requires a valid DOT Med card prior to taking the knowledge test.
Looks like I'll be taking my test in Missouri next week. I'd been studying the Tennessee book for a bit and they provided awesome practice tests on the TN DOT website. I haven't found anything like that on the MO site, but I think the Tennessee info should suffice (though it was written in hillbilly, but that's the way we like it, here.)skellr Thanks this. -
Heh, I hate it when that happens.
I think you you will be fine. If you know the pretrip inspection like the back of your hand you will be golden.TNhellbilly Thanks this. -

New and well maintained equipment
Pet and passenger policy
Ability to bobtail home
Good average miles
Great starting pay
Slower trucks (I feel it is better for me to learn in something that is tuned back a bit.)
Very few bad reviews
Tons of great reviews
Paid dog ride, hotel, and food while at orientation
And much much more....newbietrucker007 Thanks this. -
