Using the spike is bad practice. Really. Been doing it like that for years and not once has any of those things happened and did you really say you get out of the truck while dumping With a frameless now that is bad practice.

Glad for those around you. BTW reread my post. I did not say or even infer that I get out of the truck while dumping.

If you haul feed, it's common to get out while dumping....elevators and augers can only run so fast.

A full end dump would take between 40 and 60 mins to unload at the mill I hauled out of

No but you came up with a couple of scenarios that really made no sense if you have any common sense if any air part of a maxi brake fail there is diminished brakes. The one prake pot will have no brakes but the one next to it still has some. Not all the air is going tp the leaking one when high pressure is being sent. What if you set the park emerg brake with a blown spring on the park side of a brake pot it's the same just diminished brakes but at least with the spike you know right away that there is a problem were a brake pot spring is not so obvious. I also fail to see how diminished brakes will ultimately lead to laying it on its side. Your not dumping on 15 degree slopes. Key is to be in cab and know that for every action that happens while it's in the air, there is a proper reaction to correct it.

But with feed I'm sure the pad your dumping on doesn't look like the pad in the pics

Reason I always used the spike is quicker reaction time if something not looking right pressing the red button takes longer to get moving which could be seconds you don't have. All jobsites are different so scenarios are never the same. But i can say that I have used 3 and 4 axle 40 foot frameless trailers for almost 15 years and not once have the people around me have had to be worried driver
