I have a trucker friend who has sleep apnea. His DOT Physical says that he has sleep apnea, and he has to use a CPAP machine to be compliant. If my trucker friend with sleep apnea goes to another trucking company and gets a new DOT Physical with the doctors at his new trucking company, and if he tells the doctors at his new trucking company that he has never had sleep apnea, can he get a new DOT Physical and medical card that does not require him to use a CPAP machine any more? Or will the new doctors know that his last DOT PHysical said that he has sleep apnea and must use a CPAP machine, making it so that he will still be required to use a CPAP machine even if he tells the medical examiners/doctors that he has never had sleep apnea? I'm asking for a friend.

Yeah, can't hide that; it's on his record.
Schneider will pay for CPAP machine and also hire him.
Schneider has lots of accounts for everyone; OTR dedicated, dry van, reefers, flatbed, tankers, etc.

So the doctors/medical examiners will have access to his previous DOT Physical?

How would the doctors/medical examiners at a new doctor's office be able to access his previous DOT Physical? Is that all computerized and put on the internet now or what?

Plus, with the cpap racket if he's anywhere near close the dot dr will simply send them back for a retest anyway.

There is a national database. All medical exams for DOT are entered in it. It's meant to prevent this exact scenario.

I don't know what this post means. The DOT doctor will send them back for a re-test if he's anywhere near close to what?

Close to standards that would make him have to get a CPAP machine.

I'll tell you this, it isn't as bad as people say. At least for me. It has changed my life. I sleep better and have more energy.

The medical examiners won't approve my friend's medical card unless his pulmonologist faxes a letter to the medical examiners telling them that my friend is in compliance with the CPAP Machine rules and is safe to drive. My friend is worried that his pulmonologist will say "I don't have time to fax the medical examiners to tell them you're in compliance" and refuse to send the fax.

Then maybe "your friend" needs to find a new sleep doctor.
Or you can take the SD card of the machine to just about any DME (Durable Medical Equipment) place like where he got the CPAP machine from. They will print or fax a compliance report.

And why are you going with the "friend" nonsense? Not a single person believes that.
