Getting to Orientation

    Absolutely. I have never, and will never, share a hotel room with a stranger. That's one of several reasons I prefer driving my own vehicle to orientation. I always ask if the hotel will be single occupancy because I won't go if it isn't. If they say it's a single room and it isn't when I get there, I will 100% hop in my car and call the whole thing off.

    Out of curiosity, how are you going to handle time off if you will be so far from a terminal and no ride.

    Park the truck at home. And I won't work for a company that doesn't have a terminal/yard within about 200 miles, give or take, of my house. I'm willing to travel further for orientation since it's a one-time thing. That's why I have to bring my personal vehicle home immediately if I drive it to orientation. I'm not gonna take a truck assignment, leave my PV at the terminal, and then have to worry about getting it home later. And I won't ask someone else to go all that way just to drive it back.
