My research on company schools made me choose Roehl for two reasons. First, they seem to be huge on safety, and secondly running legally. Pay was comparable with all the companies that train from what I found. I figured for my first year, at least, running safely and legally were my most important things to learn.

yall do realize that they school in TN for Swift was shut down by the feds a couple years ago, unless by miraculous healing they made up their mistakes and reopened the place with new standards and such

I don't know your situation but you can not expect to get good pay during your training. I suggest to everyone to stash 6 months worth of living money away and use it when needed. You do need to start somewhere and Swift may work just fine for you. But just like everyone else you'll be moving on away from Swift when the times comes. It's not a company to have a future with unless you want lower pay for your experience. It's only obvious because of their turnover rate and their ability to hire sight unseen people right out of school. You just have to use them as much as they are going to use you.
Most of us would say pay for your own schooling so you do not have to sign a contract. Anything can happen in this business and you can be out of work fast. If that happens to you and you have a contract that's not fulfilled, they will come after you. I know it sounds easy to just go to their school but just be knowledgeable of WHAT can happen. Your research should expand beyond just the computer and use any source you can to keep records. Keeping a reference can help you many years from now. I still have notes from 1977. Good luck when you join the numbers.NHL_fan Thanks this.
