I am getting a very high swr reading. 3.5 to 4. I have a 4 foot firestik on a triple mag mount. I live in new York and it is pretty hilly but I shouldn't get 3.5 to 4 swr. What could be the problem. I hear you don't have to ground the magnet mounts idk. My antenna is mounted on the roof too. What could the problem for this high swr be?

its a ground issue
-
It is an antenna issue, not a ground issue.
Hills have nothing to do with it.
Remind me why you went to a tri-magnet setup?BTShepp Thanks this. -
What are you using to measure SWR? And is the antenna adjustable?
-
Mag mounts do provide good grounding.
Are you sure the coax is in good shape and not pinched in a door? All connectors good?BTShepp Thanks this. -

Did you put the plastic washer where the antenna screws into the female connector?
-
Assuming the plastic washer is correctly placed....If ant is not adjustable then if im correct its not ment for the band your useing it in..
