It can't have a steering wheel, or so I was told. I took a load of fertilizer, in bags, to an Amish farm once. The place looked odd with no tractors or machines, but they did have a skid steer. Apparently, the steering wheel has some connection to the devil. Recoil starters too on aux. engines, for some reasons. Small engines have a flywheel they spin to start it. Amazing culture, fading fast. More and more are adapting to our culture. Younguns want no part of the old ways. Sound familiar?

    No rubber tires either, IIRC.

Not sure about that one, the skid steer did have tires. I spent all morning there, got to know the culture, great people, they fed me, the mother had the classic porch with baked goods and handmade clothes, no telephone, or electric, the children were fascinated by my truck, when I asked if they wanted to sit in it, they ran off in fear. People that leave are "shunned" and can never return, even though, the mother still sets a place for them at dinner every night.

Pulled into an unplowed lot to park for the night once. Got stuck. Ended up having to call for a winch out. Never heard anything from the company after.wasnt worried about getting fired, as it was a legal truck parking lot, but did worry about having to pay out of pocket. Spent several hours before trying to dig myself out, so maybe they considered that puni enough?

    This is 100% false.

When I was out with a trainer. We had to repower a load from a tow yard. It was a dirt yard covered in snow. The traction was so bad that even with the rear end locked. We ended up getting stuck. They had to pull us free. Company never put it down as a preventable.

There's no such thing as absolutes in this industry. You've been around long enough to know that, too.

I think the rule is it can’t go faster than a horse

the Amish I knew had scooter things that could ride on but no pedals or chain .

....and you've been around TTR enough to know sarcasm by now. In fact, I've never seen a single productive post from you that adds to the community. All you do is argue and insult. Thanks for reminding me to add you to my ignore list.

If it was sarcasm. Then I apologize. As to the later. You've obviously not looked at everything I've posted. Cuz your statement is far from accurate.
