    WEALLY?!?:!

    OMFG. Sputters. Rants....

Interesting. I say this, over half the outfits I ran for do not exist anymore I see 31 years of trucking reduced to less. Quite a bit less.

i say to the o/p, jot down names and times, who gives a flip on the exact times and dates, if the companies are ling gone?

then for safe keeping, jot down the names and times and dates in a pocket notebook, for future reference.

You list the info you have or can find. I rant into same thing and you want to screw up an HR guy list overlapping jobs, where you work multiple jobs at same time.

Just list what you have and if you feel generous include "no longer operating" or whatever is appropriate for past companies. You need to list last 10 years or since H.S. (age 18, IIRC).

I've gotten in habit of trying to get a piece of letterhead while I work somewhere and keeping it in case I ever have to document a past employer that's kaput. Type a nice "My name in John Smith (office person) & I worked with (Driver Name) at ABC Company. formerly at ADDRESS & Phone Number. I believe DRIVER NAME was with ABC COMPANY during the dates X to Y. Company ABC ceased operations in June of 1999, etc."

Often the HR people just need to check the boxes, not do an FBI type background check. Also type up a statement to document or explain periods of unemployment. My company required any "gaps" longer than 30 days to be explained. "I was trying to start an internet business during the dates of X-to Y. I was unsuccessful and ended the effort."

Typically if you do the best you can, it won't be a problem.
