Getting your own Tags, yes another question

    Yes, you have to be either a resident or have a business registered in IL in order to have the IL title and the plate. The plates that end with "ST" - semi trailer - never expire. There is only a replacement fee once they get too rusty or they're lost or stolen. In 2016, I paid $114.00 for my trailer plates and that's it for as long as I have it.

    Illinois has very stricted rules regarding redundancy or having business in IL. Even you have a business in IL they require account holders CDL to be from IL. I've tried to get IL IRP through the business and couldn't go further because of my CDL state, and I'm not going to change it to any state other then mine.
