Dose anyone here know if GFL Environmental in Kitchener/Ayr ON uses driver facing cameras? Thinking of applying but driver facing cameras are a deal breaker for me.

that’s crazy doesn’t MB Have to talk to the union before making those kinds of rules up . otherwise what’s the point in working for a union shop if a company can do what ever they . I kind of think it’s ridiculous I can’t even drink my coffee without having to worry about being watched and called into safety for doing soLast edited: Nov 23, 2024

the ones you have to worry about is the safety guy that drove 20 years ago but says he knows everything...we have one of them.
BigHossVolvo and Peplow Thank this. -
for most trucking companies in at least ontario. you think you have finally found a good paying job paying $30 a hr that’s more then the average $24-27 a hr but then you start researching the company and looking at ex employee reviews . I get there’s always 1-2 pissed ex employees but when you see a lot of the same complaints that’s a indication the company sucks and your right that all the garbage companies seem to have not so good reviews. I keep looking at u-pak disposal for roll off or front load because Az tractor trailer doesn’t pay for sh$t here in ontario for the most part . Again through a mixed bag of reviews for them too and i’m treated good where i’m at but 60k a year really sucks for pay
I know almost all of the dz on site fuel companies have driver facing cameras all you can do is apply and if they call ask them . I do wonder how great of a company they are to work for through because at one time they were even looking for newly licensed Az drivers . I do know GFL here in orangeville sucks because of managementLast edited: Nov 26, 2024

All of the garbage and roll off companies I've seen in Construction in Calgary (WM, BFI, 3PL, GFL, Blue Planet, etc etc) all have driver facing Camera's.
Most freight companies have them now, Including TEAMS Transport, Keystone Western (Recently Purchased by TFI), All TFI companies, UPS, Purolator, FedEx, DHL, Mustang, etc etc etc. I would honestly be be shocked, to find a freight or LTL company in Canada, that doesn't have them TBH. I told the gravel company, I'm gone the day that stuff shows up, but so far, they have no reason to bring them in. I do know the big construction guys, are looking into Driver Facing Camera's (LaFarge, Burnco, Professional Excavators, Mike Veil etc etc). -
I didn’t know TFI bought Keystone western , I guess trucker Josh works for TFI now .
