Personally I'm a firm believer in not getting a dog on the sole reason to put them in a truck. If you already have a dog, well...ok but don't get a dog JUST to bring them in a truck.

Big hug..you sound like a decent human being!

Hi! I totally respect your opinion...and if I had someone to tell me a joke or two to make me laugh,or go for a walk with me at the end of the day and listen to me vent,I probably wouldn't have gotten a dog, either. But Earl keeps me laughing, keeps me out walking, even when I don't feel like it...and keeps me company. Pic is Sunday morning get together at the J in Boise.Last edited: Aug 9, 2009

I'm about finished up with my trainer at PAM....so far, I haven't had any issues with any sexist neanderthals....then again, I think it's a matter of how you carry yourself. Don't let anyone think they can get the best of you. I just recently left the Army, where all I dealt with were guys, so a few macho acting truckers who have a problem with me driving a rig isn't going to bother me much
simplyred1962 Thanks this. -
I dunno...maybe its just me...but are you saying its only if you act a certain slutty or stupid way you're gonna be treated like a piece of meat..or worse,an idiot? Tell us...how does one carry oneself in the driver's seat...goin' down the highway, staying in yer lane...mindin' yer own business in order to make sure some 'neanderthal' doesn't compare your driving abilities to a dung beetle, aside from the obvious such as driving topless, texting, putting makeup on,etc. That cb in your cab is a homing device for EVERYBODY..not just the considerate ones who actually notice how you carry yourself. Yes of course, you gotta let it roll off your back...but just be ready for it.
Lastly,I would like to thank you for your service to this country! It is greatly appreciated by this driver. -
I hate the whole Newark area. Anytime I have to go out there, I pucker my bung and shake my head. Never fun driving out there.

Grew up in that patootie hole, and if I happen to get a load back there I bobtail around to see the sights,ya know, get an Italian hotdog at Dickie Dee's,eat some tarrelles from Columbus bakery on Davenport Ave,...and ..ummm,get some cannoli from Calandra's bakery on 1st Ave!
Momma Mia,I hate it there too!
Raezzor Thanks this. -
Mostly I feel that way just for the fact it's not really fair to a dog to live in a truck but then again they don't really know any better if that's all they've ever known. Kinda like having a great dane or a st. Bernard in an apartment. I suppose it's still living a better life than an abused animal though. -
Its so funny that you would say that BECAUSE believe it or not great danes make excellent apartment dogs...truth! They most definitely must have their daily romp, but afterwards they like to lay their heavy bodies and big bones on soft things...like a bunk. Most people find that hard to believe but great dane people know it. Great danes are nothing but freakin' couch potatoes. They need their do their zoomies as we dane people like to call it,LOL,and then they want their couch back! I cannot speak for St Bernards except if they really carry liquor in those barrels under their chin they are my hero dog! Danes do not live very long, but while they are here the place they want to be most is with people, not relegated to the backyard,or a kennel. They say the smaller the dog the more energy they have. Its the herding dogs riding in trucks that must be kept busy...they have the high energy levels. But I understand how you would think that,a lot of people that don't know about the breed think the same thing. But that's ok. Anyway,I love spoiling my Earl! He goes to spas and resorts and daycare all around the country. I guess you could say its a step above being an abused animal!! haha

lol you guys crack me up sometimes ^.^ with some of the tuff your saying ^.^
I'm a simple girl.... and the way I grew up... I'm used to guys making sexist comments.. as well as being stupid and hitting on me... i dont care..and i dont mind so I dont really care as much for comments as much as I'm worried that per say im taking a shower... and all of the sudden some guy just walks in there or what ever... has that ever happened to anyone? I'm just saying... should i go in there with a can of lysol as well as a knife or something lol I know it sounds bad >.> but since i dont have experience as to what may or may not happen out there i just wanna be careful you know?
PLUS i'm trying to get as much info and stuff to show my mom... i love her to death but shes quite over protective and scared of a lot of things... i end up translating what you guys say to her so she knows that HEY i'm doing research and im trying to learn as much as possible b4 i go out there.. in order for me to be prepared... and also to hopefully make her be a little less scared.... shes coming up with a lot of questions though i must say... and I am looking all over this site as well as any other ones i find... I must say i like this one by far ^.^
plus in my opinnion who else would be able to give me the correct info aside from the people that are out there living right now doing this or that have done it in the past... from how it looks so many people talk a lot of crap... but nobody is able to really tell me how it is aside from you guys... which was more *much appreciated* ( i bet you guys are going to get tired of me saying that Lol ^.^
Oh i have a stupid question on the CB do you HAVE to go by your name? or can you come up with one? lol I said it was stupid give me a break lol it's just that my nickname on games... and with some of my friends is either silver or silerdragon... i honest to god dont know why... it just stared and stuck... since i like dragons... and i have 1 silver dragon its kinda a weird story >.< lol ^.^
