A Big Hello at ya... Been giving considerations to putting my CDL's back to work as of recent. Primarily due to sporatic nature of things at the moment. Slipped out of the seat, and back into previous career-trade right as the new HOS was coming into-play(what,'04ish)? My previous driving stent was considerably new at that,(w/ only about a 4yr stretch). I drove OTR company, for 5 outfits during that time. I enjoyed it every way I thought I would when first pursuing the transport industry. With the exception of some "unforeseens", and believe me, to know me is to know that I am tollerant. But factoring unrealistic scenarios(primarily directed twrd a 2ple experiences from "lrg/corporate-minded's", be it from standardised policies, or from uncultured, game-playing personel. Coupled w/ the foundation-shaker of the new HOS)... I recognised the impact imposed, almost immediately, with regards to effects on my livelihood and well-being. Physically, mentally, and financially. With conclusion drawn by personal issues at the time, that was the "straw", and decided to get out of it for the moment...
I certainly don't want to put myself out here with the wrong impression. I understand the in-lying regards to adjustments needing to be made with DOT standards and regs. But it affected different people on different levels. I for one(like others), considered that if I'm going to be behind the seat out there as a ways-for-means, then forced hinderances made it less desirable on a number of factors... As with anything that compells outside or third-party involvement(and what am I refering to class)?, but the bad apples and the sparked attentions they've summoned, impeded on all. Relative to ANYTHING, when it turns to greed, to a degree which you lose all concept to consideration, safety-courtesy and tollerance for others. But the world, and the people in it,,, well, we know...
At any rate,,, back to the topic at hand. I would enjoy the opportunity to share-the-takes, and chew-the-fat, with some likeminded keep-souled collegues and comrades out there. I look forward to doing so. You got the one 'Flashpoint' here, over and out
