I still don't understand why you people put up with that stuff. Your yard, your rules, fine, but my truck, my rules. You live in the thing, why would you just put up with people deciding that they get to get in it? If I had to deal with that for some reason I'd make sure that any time I went there I had pee jugs and sticky socks in the seat, and if you want to sit down you can clean it up.

The glad hand lock goes on the front of the trailer, they're not going inside the cab,
Now I've had guards look inside my truck and they don't climb in and look in back or anything.
Just make me open the door, and I did accuse this young black gal that she just wanted to look at my feet and make sure I had shoes on.

Nothing new with this at all. I left OTR work in 2004 and had to go the glad hand lock route many times. Could be because my carrier was Knight?o_O

Which is why I bolded the part about a guard sitting inside the truck.

I'm all about being safe, and not killing/injuring fork lift drivers. And let's be honest, there are some really dumb drivers out there, and we have to deal with their fallout.

But some of these rules are really dumb. All you have to do is have the driver disconnect and put a dolly under the trailer. It's better if they pony up the money and install locks on the docks so you can't simply pull out with a forklift in there. But some of these rules go way beyond what is necessary. No, you don't get my keys. No, you don't get to make me sit inside your building and ban me from my truck. No, you don't get to sit in my truck, search my truck, or anything else of that nature.

Better hope that the guard is on your company's passenger list. Let old Mr Fife fall getting in or out of truck and you will be looking for new employment.

And that is the reason United does that it has happened a lot either a forklift or a loader was in the trailer when pulled from the dock

I've never had one hand me the lock to put on. Seems that's like the inmates running the prison.

I have had many put the lock on but I would never let anyone in my truck. I have my life in this rig. I will be in the sleeper watching tv while you load.

I would just start farting and scratching my nuts. I'm sure he wouldn't be there long.
