Pur48Ted, I am not a trucker, but rather am building training materials to help people who don't "speak trucking" understand the specialized vocabulary. Your definition of "glad handing" is great! Do you mind if I use it in my training? I'd like to use both of the above (original definition and clarification re: politicians), if I could. I think my audience will appreciate the humor as well as the content. I'll cite my source, of course. :)

Please let me know if I can use these posts.

    Thank you!

You should have waited 36 more days, then this thread would have been 5 years old.

    No kiddin'? :smt107
    Five years already?
My-0-My, ....... time sure does fly when we're havin' fun.
Seems like only 1,800 days, or so, ago.
    :smt112

The Big truck truckin' industry is certainly no stranger to changes.
    :biggrin_25512:
And five years is enough time for the changes made back then to have been changed again, --- at least once or twice by now, --- often just to satisfy some special interest group(s) exercising their right to publicly demonstrate their consistently predictable, lightning fast, knee-jerk reaction times, --- thereby attracting the attention of some publicity seekin', influential politician(s) who barter votes for favors in their combined attempts to get their own personal agenda(s) implemented without requiring the voters to waste any of their own personal time thinkin' 'bout stuff like that. :smt017
    But, ....................... I digress.
    My bad.

It's been five-years since this thread was begat, --- I think the hands are still glad.
    :confused1:
But I wonder if they still require the use of rubbers. :confused4:

I thought it meant your hands were glad you didn't have to use a wrench in the freezing cold anymore because they invented this easy coupler.

Its amazing to read other's descriptions, thanks. We are quite creative with imagination!

Got everyone thinking its a new thread now.... again....

Here's a bit of trivia - why shake with the right hand?

The left was, as an old rule, used to wipe your ###.

And another: Do you know the Latin word for 'left'?

Sinistra. Coming to mean in English: Sinister.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
