Delivered my onions in Dallas. I swear everything in my truck smells like onions after living with them over the weekend. I went into the office to turn in my paperwork after I got back to our GP and everyone said I smelled of onions! I had just taken a shower and put on clothes that I washed last night. They sure were some strong onions!
Picked up my load to North Vernon IN. I will deliver it Wednesday and then go home for a week or so.

Took me 12 weeks to get the first call then 4 more to get hired,I left a couple of messages on HR voicemail to let them know how interested I was and it seemed to work.

After delivery in Denver on Wednesday morning I reloaded that afternoon in Denver going to Laredo. I spent the night in my own bed last night. :yes2557: Right now I'm being unlaoded, and once they finish I will reload a few blocks away going to Bollingbrook,IL for Tuesday morning. This will allow me too spend two more nights in my bed at home and accomplish a 34hr restart. OH YEAH!!!

After delivering in Bolingbrook,IL yesterday I reloaded in Rockdale,IL going to Minneapolis, which I delivered this morning then went to our Cottage Grove,MN facility & waited for a call from outbound. Got tired of waiting, so at 1000 I called them. Maybe they were about to call because I was given a list of loads to chose from. Some were departing today & others tomorrow. Considering the lengths of haul & the kilowatt weekend I chose one that will depart tomorrow morning. It is a three stop load going to Utah. First stop is in McCook,NE at a farmers supply. The second goes to a dairy farm in Brigham City,UT & delivers Saturday morning. Then the final stop goes to another dairy farm in Delta,UT for Saturday around noonish. I'm hoping to be sent onto our facility in Henderson,NV from there so I can get another load & keep running over the holiday weekend.

After I was dispatched this morning on the Utah load I was finishing some paperwork & contemplating what I was going to do the rest of the day when, at about 1230, I received a call from outbound asking of I would deliver a forgotten backhaul left on the yard. Nothing else pressing to do so of course I said yes. I'm thinking it's only 45 minutes one way & early afternoon, so of the COSTCO store is quick I should miss rush hour traffic. Yep, you guessed it, Murphy showed up.

After outbound asked of I would help they transfered me to backhaul dispatch to get the nesecary info. I was told that the load needed to be assigned another trip number which would take a few minutes. In the mean time I was to hook the trailer & pretrip then check with our shipping department for the BOLs & a new trip sheet, then scaled out. This was all accomplished within 30 minutes & I thought things were going smoothly until I went into the guard house to get the scale ticket. Guard said the load was not yet cleared to leave. So I waited for about 20 minutes. No release. I call backhaul & leave a message. Another 30 minutes, I call again & leave message. Another 20 minutes & I've had it, so I send a message on the QCOMM that if the trip is not released in the next 30 minutes I'm putting it back on the yard & calling it a day. I called backhaul & left the same message. 15 minutes later the load was finally cleared to leave. I hate having to make that type of comment before something gets done. I'm just glad it's not a regular occurence.

The truck is currently 3k miles overdue for it's PM. After informing the shop that my current trip will not be taking me back to Grand Prairie it was decided to get the PM done at the Speedco in Council Bluffs,IA while enroute. Wooooohooooo! I don't have to deal with the shop this go around.

Since leaving on the 17th I've turned in 5757 miles & 7 extra stops. This also includes a 34 restart at home.

Well, it's a slow Labor Day weekend for me. I spent 7 days at the house with the family and it was so good to be home and get some things done around the house. I got a Backhaul out of Somerset KY going down to Waco TX but because of Labor Day, I can't deliver it till Tuesday. I called dispatch yesterday to see if I could drop the load at GP and keep running but I was denied due to a lack of drivers to cover the load. So I'm going to sit for two days waiting to deliver this load. Hopefully I will get a great outbound load out of GP that will allow me to utilize the fresh 70 hrs I will have on my book next week.
