Welcome LRW. Mike would venture a guess of 45+/- on average age of driver at Poly. I don't think age is a factor in hiring criteria. Sending the email was the correct thing to do. Good luck.

After not being as productive as I like to be in the month of October; I've got November off to a good start. I left GP Monday at 1900 enroute on a three stopper that finaled this morning in Spokane,WA (mom/pop). The other two stopps came off Wed. morning in Longmont,CO (mom/pop) and Loveland,CO (Walmart). Walmart took their sweet time because they couldn't find four cases, which they finally decided weren't there and wrote the shortage on BOL almost four hours later. My appointment was for 1130 and accroding to the appointment sheet the unloading was done by 1215, but I did not get paperwork till almost 1500. Oh well.

After unloading this morning I went to Nyssa,OR to pick up onions for delivery in Big D on Tuesday at 0800. I could be there by late Monday afternoon but my logbook won't let me. So I'll have to rise and shine early Tuesday morning and beat the traffic. I know they will take it early, but just how early will depend on if there are other trucks waiting to unload.

Once I turn in the paperwork Tuesday morning I will have about 3900 miles plus three extra stops.

We'll see what next week brings.

JD, I was at Diamond Onion on Monday afternoon and there was no line at all. Maybe most of the trucks had already come and gone or the season is just slowing down for them. Hopefully you'll experience the same. Good travels mate.

Well got my back haul plan already for Monday. Picking up in Kinston, NC and heading to Flower Mound, TX for early Thursday. Should give me a chance to drop by the yard on the way through and swap back into my other truck or perhaps I will just roll on in on Thursday morning and swap back over. Hoping the old Freight Shaker transmission holds out for me until I can get back to the yard, perhaps time to put this old girl out to pasture.

I hope that happens for me as well. BTW, I had a conversation with the man who is in charge of shipping at Snake River Produce in Nyssa,OR, while getting loaded last night. Was told they ship from Sept-April.

I applied on Oct. 22nd and I talked to Ed this week. He said my app was in HR right now. Thanks for asking them and posting this LilRob. That clears it up as to why it takes different time frames for different potential employees to get the call. Hopefully I hear something this coming week. I was laid off for 2 years prior to my current job and I'm hoping that doesn't screw things up. I've been doing this a long time and I have a clean record....and I'm tired of changing jobs.
