Who's stealing gladhand seals at Swift Laredo Terminal? 20260513_055306.jpg
I stepped inside to take a shower and when I came back out my trailer gladhand rubber seals were gone! And by looking at this sign at the Laredo terminal it looks like this happens all the time AND has been for years if not, for decades!

Old legend is It’s the Chupacadra. They feed on gladhand seals and taillights. Only a handful of drivers have seen one back thru out history and no one has ever caught one, let alone caught one in the act.

I think the whole region is engaged in gladhand seal theft, not just Swift yard. I've been warned about this for a decade. Isn't El Paso also famous for this?

That's been going on for decades all around the county. Sometimes a driver finds gladhand seals missing, so he just takes some from another trailer on the lot.

Always carry at least a couple of extra everywhere you go.

More importantly, why do drivers need to be told to make sure the seals are there???

You'd be surprised at the cost difference for things in Mexico. Some things are much cheaper, and some things are crazy expensive. I have a friend who lives in Mexico and whenever they come back to the States to visit family they leave with a suitcase full of things like caulk.

If those little rubber gaskets cost $5 instead of 50 cents, we'd be taking them with us as well.

Amazon sells 100 count boxes for $20. I typically carry one of those.
