But of course it's all downhill I looked at my globe and from Indiana to Texas it is all downhill. LOL just remember when you leave Texas it's all uphill.

Glad you ran into a good black hat. There is a lot of us black hats that try to be good ambassadors for the company and help the other drivers. Then there are some I'll just leave it at that. -
Way to go Steve! Congrats!
Steveo2Drive Thanks this. -
Did you ever have one of those midas days, you know when everything just goes right. Well I know they are rare but I had one today. Actually it all started last night because that's what set me up for today. I ran a couple of house last night and shut down at 9:00 pm. That gave me plenty of sleep, and a hour to wake up, drink a cup of coffee and kick the tires. Then I drove about four hours and pulled into a pilot for fuel, took a shower and sat down to eat. Then I drove 3.5 hours stopped at rest area, took a 10 minute brisk walk, drank a soda and kicked the tires once again. Back in the truck for another 3.75 hours and arrived at the little rock terminal with 20 minutes of drive time left. Ran the truck through the wash bay and then met up with Steveo at the barn. He is in the night class.
All totaled, 670 miles today, just as planned. Weather was great, traffic was light and the hammer was down. God's grace was upon me today, and I'm thankful.Fratsit and Seawheelerswife Thank this. -

Well I've got my first week under my belt now. Starting to see a rhythm to things now. Getting better at (maybe slightly faster) securement and tarping. I can see this is where I can pick up some time. Also figuring out how to get the most out of my electronic logs.

I've ran 3,381 miles in the first week. Thats a full 7 days as I haven't had home time yet. They told us to expect getting frustrated to the point of wanting to quit about every other day for the first month. So far I haven't had one of those days. I guess next week I'm due for several just to catch up with normal.
As for the glass hauling, I've only had one load out of Corsacana, TX. Probably get another one today as I'm sitting here on the south side of Dallas waiting to unload some coils and my 70 hour clock is slapping red. So they will get me back to Cosacana just in time to shut down for 10. -
That's good miles right there. Who needs home???? Haha

Hooked up with my trainer tonight at the fort smith terminal. Got a load of grey bar heading to laredo, tx for Monday. Man I can't wait to hit the hotel for the weekend and watch some football!
