Paper logs DO NOT allow one to get more miles...unless you cheat on those logs.
I'm on E-logs now too, and I get as many miles as anybody on paper that is running legal...those companies are night and day different than Maverick. They are still "flexible"...Maverick is not.

I think you can get more miles with paper if you use that new math. It's like the guy who pulls in next to you at the truck stop and is able to complete his 10 hour rest in 6.

I said "running" legal...drawing lines legal is another monster.

I am now in that learn as you go stage. Maverick has concluded that I am of no significant danger to the general public and I know just enough to get the job done. So after getting my truck back from the Freightliner dealer on Wednesday I called extended services as it was after 5:00pm. They told me I was still shown as broken down. So I told them I was good to go and heading to the truck stop. Then they deadhead me something like 270 miles. Then I sit for 36 hours until I get loaded. So lesson here is if I had waited until the morning to call in I would have gotten $100 brake down pay. But since I was so honest I got punished by them giving me a $90 move. Second lesson learned is after getting loaded I called dispatch and asked how to get the detention pay for sitting in a parking lot for 36 hours. Oh, that's easy, you don't. What? Yapper, no money for sitting unless you have a load assignment. Or if it's over the weekend.
The good news is that I got a 1600 mile run from TX to NJ and I can spend two days with family in Illinois on the way. -
Yeah...something I just learned a couple weeks ago that REALLY pissed me off. (I tried to bite my lip and not go off the deep end to my FM...only partially succeeded...its not his fault anyway, but when I have something to say I generally say it no matter who's listening)
Specialized doesn't get the 800 mile weekend pay that the flat bedders get, we still only get $150 for the weekend...and then only if we have no load.
Breakdown pay is only $88 too...in both divisions.
Detention pay is for being held more than 3 hours at a shipper or receiver...and to get it all you have to do is send in a macro. I forget which one, look through them and you will find it...it says "detention request", and it must be sent in within 2-3 hours (I forget which) of leaving the shipper or receiver that held you up. -
yea and it starts for the 4th hour...meaning you get nothing for the first 3 hours you spent waiting. I think anything after an hour you should get paid...maybe it would cause the shippers to be more effecient
larry5853 Thanks this. -
I would like to see drivers get say a 10 or $20 per load pay. Then detentions after two hours.

One hour is enough time for them to get their stuff together in my humble opinion!
