AN HOUR FOR LUNCH?!? oops, misread it. thought you were talking of some of our customers being allowed one hour to eat their stuff together while you waited to be unloaded after arriving on time for your 12 noon appointment.
I wonder if they'd be offended if i grabbed a can of soup and broke bread with them in their lunchroom while i waited? And when they asked for an outsiders opinion as to how the company might possibly operate more efficiently thereby possibly generating more profits, higher wages, more jobs, blah blah blah i'd suggest overlapping shifts so that no post would ever be left unmanned.
The silence would be deafening.. . .only to be broken by the repetitious "schlack, schlack, schlack, schlack" sound of someone fashioning a spoon into a shank to be shoved into my carotid artery whilst diverted under the rouse that i was speaking with the foreman. . . . .TO BE BE CONTINUEDh82bbad, Bluestraveler, jxu417 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Now what I'd like to see is well you just got me unloaded. Now it's time for me to have lunch I'll just have to tie up your Bay for an hour sorry an hour and 15 min. I had to go the bathroom. No better make that two hours had to have safety meeting to. LOL

and lest we not forget to replenish our bodies craving for nicotine so 5 minutes for a smoke........15 if union shop?
-
oh that's right NO SMOKING ON THE PROPERTY so you have to take a golf cart 1/2 mile off company property to smoke. and the golf cart battery dies but safety regulations prohibit walking on company property so they have to call for a tow...sewerman Thanks this.

I'm starting to see these "appointment times" are BS. Most places have no idea they even have appointments, and if they do they don't care. "Get in line driver" The only good thing about them not caring is if you show up early some times you can get in the door and unload, but this screws the guy who pulls in on time and now you are holding him up.

Early Bird gets the Dock....Screw the apt time just get there asap and get loaded/unloaded and move on, thats how you make money, not sitting around waiting for apt times.

I would agree when you are unloading. What I hate is arriving on time after running a perfect plan just to wait until they get to you. Or when the go on break just 10 min short of getting you unloaded.
I guess that's just trucking. -
I guess they are trying to make up for last weeks poor mileage. Got a trip from NJ to SW Utah via St Louis to pick up snow chains.

there ya thats a good load (provided you dont run into any bad snow lol) Have you been out there yet?
