First load of the new year is a 650 mile deadhead. OK, that's a good start.
JimTheHut Thanks this. -
First "real" load of the year is a live load of glass on a step deck. 450 Mile run from MI to Geneva NY. Took me 3 hours to load, secure and tarp. The only worse load in Glass is the same thing on a standard flatbed. This glass is 100" tall so it had to go on a step deck.
JimTheHut Thanks this. -
Where at in MI did you load?
-
Carleton, MI at the Guardian plant.Evil_E Thanks this. -
I loaded out of there one time with a van trailer. LOL One skid, 1200lbs....went all the way to L.A.
-
That would be one sweet load. -
Good and Bad
The Bad, had to wait 27 hours to get loaded in Geneva NY.
The Good, Geneva is a great facility. First off I brought in a load of glass from another plant. Checked in and they told me to drop the trailer and go park the truck. What? Ya we'll take it from here. What about the tarps? Oh we do everything. Wow a guy could get used to this. So all I had to do is drop the trailer and they did the rest. Next came the load. When we get live loads it takes a full 3 hours of hussel to get everything loaded, secured and tarped. Not here, they do it all for you while you wait outside in your truck. And the cherry on top of all this is that the load pays 2723 miles! My first coast to coast run, NY to CA
So I'd say the good definitely out weighed the bad this time. -
Nice, theres that sweet load!
