Well Freightliner Tulsa had to order a part fot the AC yesterday. I spent the night in the Super 8 just down the street (within walking distance). Part is should come in after lunch and take 4-5 hours to install. That will put me past the time dispatchers go home for the weekend, so more than likely I'll be spending the weekend in Tulsa.

Call dispatchers prior to them leaving and see if they can get you a load before you're done.

So yesterday I get a call from my FM around 16:30 (half hour before hes gone for the weekend) and somehow he knows more about the repair of my truck than I do. He tells me it will be done in an hour or two. So he puts a load on me for the weekend picking up in TX delivering in OH Monday morning. Because of his decisions I couldn't get a hotel room last night so had to stay at dealer last night. Hung out in the drivers lounge. Now it's nearly 07:00 and the mechanic told me he's wrapping it up.
I truly doubt my FM even talked to anyone at the dealership, he just needed to clear his board for the weekend. I hope I get break down pay for this, last time I spent a night in a hotel I didn't.

As long as you were down for a 24-hour day you should get breakdown pay.
Before I sit in the drivers lounge at dealer all night call up fleet net and they should get your room.

Are the glass guys not eligible for the 800 mile weekend promise?

Glass has the same 800 mile min. Or if you are within a few hundred miles of the house they will deadhead you home.

Got the truck out of the shop at 10:00 yesterday morning. Ran down to TX and picked up. Ran 623 miles and AC worked great! It was 95 in TX so that was a good test.
