Hi, Im in the process of securing a glider truck with 3406e engine and 18 speed. The ratio is set to 3.42. Cannot change ratio. I need an advise of the hp and torque. The engine I selected is 2ws.18 speed 2050 torque tranny and 2050 torque clutch. what setting should I ask the dealer : 550 HP with 2050 torque or 600 HP with 2050 torque or 550 HP with 1850 torque. I also have the option to select 1ws or 5ek engines. I live in the west coast. Most of my driving will be 11 western states and texas,KS,MO,NE.,OK Loads will be heavy about 80 percent of the time. I will be pulling a dry van. Please advise. Thanks Josh
Might want to rethink on buying a glider. Allready illegal in Cali. Guessing Washington is next ,followed by Oregon. Or did you know this allready?
I know they are illegal in California . I will get plates from out of state , AZ or TX. I might park out of state and come back home in a car. I just dont like the def and Dpf trucks. too many problems. the repairs on these def trucks empty ones pockets real fast. I dont want to go shop for repairs all the time.
Your choice. But there a several members on TTR running emmissions trucks without issues. Without making this thread about politics, politics will influence trucking in the future. Emmissions will become a bigger hurdle in the future. Choose wisely.
There’s no one looking for them. I run CA a lot in the summer and have never seen the emissions cops.
