Do you own a noncompliant truck? Didn't think so. Rumors are rarely true. This one is false. The only thing you can't get is electrical diagnostic from the dealers. Noncompliant trucks typically don't get check engine lights. Ecus go bad, but rarely.

 

It’s deductible. If your rates are high enough the cost of def doesn’t matter. Insert any other excuse we all hear when people talk about mpg. I saved $2147 in fuel with my new truck this month, guess I’ll pay for my def out of that.

Ive never been asked for my log. The regulation states nothing is required of the driver to prove equipment is ELD exempt.

Ive taken the picture of it and put it on one of the forums here in another discussion. Or, push comes to shove I can show them my Vin plate which has GL on the end of it.

 

Mine just do low 6, but I am always at 70k+. I do hit the 8mpg when empty LOL. I do have to put def in it.

 

so the chassis vin has GL at the end of it,and does it have 3 zeros in the middle?

No mine doesn't have the zeros in the middle. My vin on my registration or on the frame doesn't have the GL on the end. But, there is a small plate that has the last 6 of my vin and GL at the end of it. I had to take my truck to the License & Theft Bureau of NC and they had to verify it wasn't stolen prior to me being able to register it. They gave me some paper, ive since lost that paper, thats why I had to look up the regulations.

 

When you had a DOT audit nobody asked for paperwork to prove what engine the truck was equipped with when you showed that you were running paper logs?

I get 10.5 empty and 7.7ish on winter fuel loaded at 80k.
