Glider lease programs??

Not all are gliders. But all have rebuilt Detroit series 60 motors.

 

It would be a great idea if a company's fleece purchase program was aimed primarily at getting a driver into a reliable truck so that he can be successful at building a business and eventually own a truck.

Sadly, the vast majority (almost all) such programs have the driver's success as an unintended byproduct of the whole fleece program. These programs are chiefly used to off load the risk of maintaining POS emmission trucks onto an unsuspecting rube (OO want-to-be), clarifying the IC nature of the rube's employment so that the IRS doesn't come after the carrier for its share of FICA, and establishing some liability protection for the carrier in the case of a lawsuit.

Save your money, build your credit and buy your own glider, or fix up an old truck, replacing so many parts eventually it is a virtual glider..... fleece purchase is almost always a losing proposition for the driver.

 

I read that Schneider(SNI) had used glider Freightliners

 

I wonder why Schneider is allready selling them?

Look into Equity Transportation. They are doing l/p with registered gliders. Hubby doing program soon. We are in the first 6 weeks and truck is an 05 glider with just rebuilt engine and training. I have a thread going here about hubby's experience called from company driver to l/p.

 

Nothing worth having comes easy.

 

My wife and I run team and do awesome as lp drivers. We had our own authority up to 2012. Gave up the headache. We will take home net this year 175k. Not bad for a rube I guess?
