Hello everyone... I took a load, first one in 2 years, that deliver's in CA. I was pretty confident that my Glider was good to go but, it weighed on my mind today so, once I parked this evening, I looked it up...what a fricken nightmare! I did find a quick guide and according to that, I am good. What gets me is that it asks for the year on the engine label, mine says 11/8/11 but I know it is an 04 or older... I also do not have an emissions label.

So, am wondering who runs their Glider in CA? I am going to Redlands and there are two options but both have coops... I can take 10 in or 15,,,what is better? I am sure all coops are open 24/7, or are they? Maybe going through at night would help?

I also remember hearing that if a truck only ran so many miles a year or times a year, they didn't have to be compliant but of course, can't find anything on that or glider's in general, on any of CARB's websites..

Just let me know what ya think...thanks

You're fine. No one will care. My buddy lives in ca and runs only CA and has a 2002 pre emissions truck and nobody ever hassles him

Wash the truck and banning won't even care about you

  6. If you are not a California company with a CA tag number.

Do not enter any information into the CARB website. It's not your state, don't give them info to search you out when you pass a weigh station.

Only give an answer when asked a question.

    That being said.

Question asked. ". Would you like one or two copies of your fuel reciept driver?"

Answer: " yes I'll take your free paper,_good bye"

    Then drive off

My understanding is CHP is not enforcing the CARB regs. CARB agents would need to do that, but they are not authorized to make a pullover.

These fines you read about is when they go to a yard and determine the trucks are not in compliance. They can't inspect your yard if it isn't in California.

BTW, when California is listed separate from the US, it is, or was when I lived there, the world's seventh largest economy. That means there is much freight, do to write it off may not be the best idea.

CARB is sometimes set up at the Rainbow scales SB15 just North of San Diego, and up in Fontana Ca.(trucker central) I see A TON of non compliant trucks running all over town, now CARB CANNOT pull you over but what they do do is follow you around, they find an area where the trucks are coming in and out of a site (construction etc.) then they set up a mobile smoke check on the side of the road, and they make you rev your motor (mash on it!!) and then measure the Nox i think it is.If you are out of compliance they fine you. Look on the CARB website there a bunch of case law where companies and OwnerOps were fined. In addition, The CARB Goons are starting to go after the Shippers from I have heard, I was talking with one Broker on Friday and he says he could less what im running as long as I get the load there on time. Then on the other hand, some shippers wont even let you bump the dock if don't have a compliant truck, ive seen some those postings on Members Edge. Mostly going in or out of Camp Pendleton
I read that there was supposed to be a bunch of new rules Jan 2016 regarding CARB and fazing out trucks etc.
and guess what???? not a #### thing has changed its all still the same,So I guess the right answer just dont get caught going thru the scales while the CARB guys at the scales, or buy a compliant truck.

Well, made it safe and sound into CA with no issue's thus far... I have found out that I need a Emissions sticker on my 12.7, which Fitzgerald did not put on... That consists of stopping by a Freightliner dealer, have an inspection done and filling out some paperwork. It costs $125 to get it and it will take about a week to get the sticker, at which time I will have to go back to the same dealership and have them install it... Once I do that, than I can register my truck and be legal to run 1000 miles a year...lol
