Annd that's easily gotten from any truck engine made in the last 30 years. The first series 60 came out in what? 1985? Cummins introduced the n14 a couple years later. Cat was the last true mechanical engine with the b model, when was the last year they were available? 93? My 93 w900 has a 3406b, with a peek configuration so its a hybrid mechanical/electronic.

That was my biggest complaint about the elog mandate. They picked a manufacturer year that had nothing to do with will elogs work with the engine or not. It's like they intentionally gave us all an out if we wanted.

 

Funny just two years ago i got a quote on a rolling glider(cab frame suspension and rears) from a peterbilt dealer and he didnt all me for any 'buyer manufacturer number'. The only issue was a slight communication error. The salesman had trouble understanding i wanted a true glider to build myself and not a turn key pre built one. But once i got that through to him or was just a matter of sitting down and speccing everything out.

I don't know what it takes to buy rolling gliders, even without the rears, but there is one company up that has bought several petes and put them together in their own shop, another has been buying freightliners and using their old components, but I think the freightliner dealer has been putting them together.
Both of these companies were buying them so they could use cat engines, so far e-logs are not enforced here, except by a few companies.

 

The only thing it takes to buy a glider is a dealer salesman wanting to make a sale. And a deep pocket book.

I've wondered how difficult that would be. I've got a freightshaker that is shaking its last shakes as far as the body is concerned, but the 14 liter detroit is running strong.

 

When are you going to write a book about all your trucking adventures? I know you don't have much else going on and your somewhat of a celebrity on a huge truckers chat. You need to think about it
