Just finished my first day loaded with freight. I've got a rudimentary plan for the rest of the week, if nothing better on the board shows up.

I'll deliver tomorrow morning to Albany OR, go to Vancouver WA, and pickup a load going to Boise. On the morning of the 20th I'll deliver to Boise, all as planned.

What comes next is potentially going from Boise to Seattle from Wednesday to Friday, and Seattle to Phoenix Friday to Monday. These loads pay okay, but they're both at least 40,000lbs. Thankfully the Seattle to Phoenix doesn't have me run through California. If I do these last 2 runs I'll reach my weekly income goal, and I'll run 3100mi/8 days. I want to run around 2700/week so the math works out to average 388/day, or 2716mi/7days. Not too bad.

Settlement will look nice too, especially not having a truck payment yet :D I just wanna go out East, even if I have to take a less-than-desirable load out of Phoenix to do it.

it’s been like this every since I been here. I can’t see any Cali loads. I’m blocked because my truck is not compliant.

Almost everything in trucking is REGIONAL. That is to say, your best markets will be within 200 - 600 miles.
Find a spot where you're comfortable, and work it.
If you wish to take a summer trip coast to coast, understand that it will take some work and planning.
But most of the time, the money and the time are best spent where you are

That's what I'm seeing so far. I'd prefer not to run the PNW but because I live in Salt Lake but I guess it means this is where I'll make most of my runs from. I hate chaining up!!!

Turns out I won't have enough on my 70 to get from Seattle to Phoenix on time, so I think I'll do a Seattle to Reno Friday to Monday, getting my 34hr reset in during the weekend. Then it's a Reno to Portland from Monday to Wednesday, and after Wednesday the 27th I don't see anything worth it yet.

I think I'm getting the hang of this load board thing!

Remember, you don't necessarily have to sit for 34 hours. See what you pick up from your first day

You don't have to say what it is but - do you a have a revenue per day and revenue per mile goal?

Remember its no longer about the miles you run, it is about profitable use of your time and resources.

Opus, drvrtech77 and dwells40 Thank this.

I do have a daily, weekly, and monthly goal and a revenue per mile goal. Reaching it seems like a whole other ballgame. I wanted to aim for $1.60/mi but it's #### near impossible finding loads for that rate in the PNW

I live in an area that isn’t optimal for good paying loads (south Texas) so i get whatever i can outta the house to a known good area and stay in that good area till it’s time to go home. I think that would work well for you too

exactly.......$2 in $1 out is $1.50 all day long. You just have to learn where to go.
