Going back trucking with PTL

440 miles today.

Did the D/H at Walmart DC. Had a bit of an issue putting the trailer between 2 other trailers but got it done eventually. Some days you can hit a postage stamp and others you can't even find the post office.

The only MT I found was one of the oldest I have ever seen it was a 23-XXXX. I hooked up to it and sent in my MT call and waited about 15 minutes. I sent in a message I was going to a TS about 20 miles away. I go out the gate and get the beep from the QC that was my fuel level request. So I stop out side the gate and wait for 20 minutes. Still nothing so I call and they say it's a holiday (no ####) and they would send it out in a few.

It finally comes in picking up in Charlotte and delivering in Ottawa, KS on the 7th. I go to the shipper and the place is locked up. My loaded trailer is out on the street. I park behind it and look for the bills. Not in the nose box, not in the mail box, I go to the back of the trailer and no seal. So I open ot up and the bills are laying on the floor. Looks like some type of filter media. It only weighs 8K. Nice change from the last 3 loads.

Did 508 miles today.

Only 256 to go for tomorrow. I plan on stopping at the Love's which is my fuel stop and the place I deliver at on Monday is only a mile away.

I am at the TA in Foristell, MO for the night.

 

Only drove 254 miles today.

Parked at the Love's in Ottawa, KS about 1.5 miles from my delivery tomorrow. Hope I get a good load outta here.

 

472 miles today.

Sitting at the W Memphis, AR yard. I picked up a heavy load from Church and Dwight and dropped it here. I need to do a DOT physical tomorrow.

 

Passed my DOT physical . I'm good for another year. I did have an issue with my eyes. I had to go down to the optometrist at the Walmart to get certified by him I was 20/40. I have cataracts that need to be taken care of.

Get back to W Memphis and check on my OOS status. I am good to go but my truck is not. I go ask and the supervisor says his guys on days can reset my check engine light. No they could not they can't get it to communicate so the put the truck back in service.

Sent the FM a message I am good to go. He says update my PTA. In comes a PP picking up on the yard and delivering a whole 98 miles away and its tomorrow at 1130. Well at least I will get city pay for it.

 

Did 357 miles today.

Unloaded at the Sam's DC. got a PP picking up at 0900 its 1130 now. Going to McCalla, AL then hometime 1 day early. The delivery app was 7/9 at 1700. Then they changed it to 7/10 at 1600. I'm going there at 0900 and hope they will unload me.

 

Only 121 miles.

Sitting at the receiver waiting to see when they will take me. I want to go home.

Last night I smelled diesel fumes in the sleeper. Got out and looked and the APU had a large puddle of fuel under it and it was leaking. Shut it off. Called RD Maint in the morning and they told me that the FM's take care of APU problems but he did suggest that I go get the fuel turned off at a TA or Petro. Checked with the FM and he said nothing we can do right now, There is nowhere near me right now to repair it. So no APU for awhile that sucks.
