I'll bet that driver thought he a bad a-z-z passing you ("Scared") right?

Possibly the various trucking companies should explain F=ma to their drivers.

Not trying to start a fight or anything, but if you're scared/nervous you should probably park it instead of waiting till you start sliding too much. Those are the guys I always see in the ditch

And the the drivers who can't handle the traffic delays in L.A. should pull over to the shoulder on the 405 as well...this is getting ridicules...:biggrin_2554:

How is it rediculous, one is unsafe one is traffic, I don't see how the two go together, or is because i don't agree that anyone going faster than 30 mph in the snow is a maniac. Don't the other drivers on here always say no load is worth your life, well if the snow and ice is so bad that I'm scared or nervous I park the truck and wait fot it to clear up a little.

I'm not "attacking" your comment but the preceding comments.
Let me stress once again.....There is no shame as to driving in your comfort zone. There are no awards for getting "there" first, there are no awards for getting "there" fast.

My beef is with the drivers who think they can out-drive the laws of physics and the laws of averages. That's just like running as an "Outlaw Trucker", they'll get away with it for years, but one day, they'll run into a situation where they won't be able speed out of or B.S. their way out of...the laws will take them and spit them out with no mercy.

Ok, I misunderstood your post, I apologize. I assure you I'm no cowboy and I've been the slow guy and been passed by people that I end up passing in the ditch 15 or 20 minutes later, as to theres no reward for getting there first what about first in first out lol j/k:biggrin_25519:

I drive according to a combination of road conditions and visibility.

Heavy snow and really thick on the road == slow down to 30

Light snow and the plows have been through == can drive 45 to 50

Ice == Drive 10 and find a truck stop.

But I guarantee when you pull-off there will be some cretin who will call you a wuss...of course when you get going later on, guess who's in the ditch making excuses to the company why they're in the ditch.

Reminds me of my dad, years and years ago out in Manitoba during a blizzard there was him and 2 other drivers from the company he worked for all stopped at the same place, my dad wasn't the type of driver to let a little snow stop him but he wasn't stupid either so he decided to stay where he was for the night and sleep through the storm the other 2 drivers teased him and said they were leaving as it was only a 3 hour drive to where they were going (all 3 of them were going to the same place.) Long story short when my dad woke up the storm was over and the roads were in a lot better condition, he made the trip in about 4 hours and when he ran into the other 2 drivers they told him it took them almost 10 hours to get there, they were totally exhausted from trying to drive through it, my dad was totally refreshed and got the first load out because the other 2 had to sleep lol.
