Ed was/will be a perfect match for ya. If he sees you getting stressed, he'll just give you support by saying 'just take your time, dont rush it'.

i think when i was at the school he quit like 2 times. =)

My DM is top knotch. She actually answers the phone when I call. I've only talked to her on the phone 3 times in the last 2+ months I've been solo. I haven't really had the need to take up her time on the phone. She is quick to respond to QC msgs so phone calls are not necessary. I'm not sure how much interaction there is between DMs and planners but my DM seems to work well with the planners. I'm scheduled to get off the Developmental Team pretty soon. I'm very concerned that I will not get a regular fleet DM that is as good.

mine is the same way. think i've only called him 5 times in 2 yrs. And he can pull strings. The other day, i unloaded early in New Albany, IN. then sat for 4 hrs. after a couple had passed, i asked him via QC to msg planner to get me rollin'. He must have a planner in Memphis, cause i got a call from him to 'do him a favor'. glad to have my DM.

I think drivers experience at swift all depends on their DM. there have been times i've heard DMs giving their drivers so much attitude....and if that were the case with my DM, he'd not have lasted for more than a couple months. Dont forget, as a company driver OR a Lease/Op.....your DM works for YOU. and you can request a new one at any time.

Wait till you have to blind side back into a tight dock with trucks on both sides. Alot of times another driver will help guide you in, especially when your blind siding next to him.

Thank the Lord!!!!!!! I finally have a picture in my head and a new mantra, lol. Right goes toward the dock Left goes away from the dock (or cones). I put er in all afternoon!!! I corrected my oopes, and knew what I was doing when I did it!!! Now that's what I wanted to learn, not just hope I get er in but know if I do it this way it will go in!!! I dont know why I heard the same thing in so many different ways an didnt understand what the heck they were trying to say. Then Vickie said those 2 phrases and they work!!! She is a very patient instructor and I believe she knew I needed it in simple simple terms. lol I am sooo relieved and actually have some confidence now. BTW I spent the whole 10 hours doing nothing but the alley dock, lol.
Thanky all for your enduring support and prayers!
    Luv you gys

"They" don't get paid, each driver gets paid. Each driver is paid half the team cents per mile times all the miles that the truck "earns". And you each get your own "check" or actually it'll be direct deposit.

Had a pretty good day. Did very good on alley dock, now struggling with offset for some reason, lol. Was getting it ok before and passed it an straight back before I failed alley dock before I came back to school. But like the alley dock dont know how I did it or what to do to fix it. Now I can fix alley dock an dont have many problems with it, but the offset is like being blind, lol. All the instructors will be back on Monday so I will ask an hopefully get the answer that turns on my floresent light. Everyone says my light is not a light bulb cause it takes awhile for it to come on rofl.
    Luv you gys
