Going HAM!

I just have a few request to help me setup my truck temporarily until I change trucks.

The dual band I'm getting is a Diamond 7500 it has a UHF mount. I guess I just need an adapter if I wanted to screw into my 3/8 mount? Or run a fresh feedline and mount?

For all my radios I'd like to start bypassing factory power and ground and either going straight to the battery or the fuse panel. I can't find any pictures or instructions online to get the radio(s) wired to the Cascadia fuse or batteries. I know guys do it, with all the power they run. Just never seen it.

Finally, I think I've settled on my first radio, the yaesu ftm100d. I want to have digital capability, and I have read yaesu sounds better than icoms. I also wanted APRS built in, to see other ops in the area I can ragchew with, hopefully other truck drivers. It only has one receiver but the higher model with two is almost the price of an all band transceiver. I will get an all band eventually, but waiting for Yaesu to come out with an all band with c4fm/digital tech in a mobile. Also, the wiresx feature with allow dx, until I do go all band, or I can try to work dx 10meter with the Stryker.

Wouldn't I need a loom once the wires got outside? Did you do this and do you have pics?
