Thats it, I have a cummins 450hp, 10 speed eaton fuller and I believe 373 gears in the rearend. Took me a day in Marshfield. If your new to Roehl then even as a o/o you have to do a orientation. I just sat down with Dan for a couple hours and went over the program.

Update: After my time in Marshfield I was given a 1400 mile run down to Houston. They gave me 4 days because I wanted to run it thru the house to get my dog. Delivered this morning and got a load from Houston to York PA nearly 1500 miles and I can deliver it anytime before Friday. I am shooting for Thursday morning. My first two runs have been longer than any run I had as a company driver. that will be at least 2900 miles turned in before the pay period ends and hopefully a few hundred more from Thursday. My truck averaged almost 7.8 mpg that was with a 10.000lb load. This next load is 41,000lb and I am running it thru some big hills. It is odd to go down a hill at 75mph without that darn quailcom beeping. I still found myself setting cruise around 60 to keep my money from blowing out the stack.

Really great to hear you log your adventure! I was just back to read you in the other thread and found this one.
So you have to bobtail/deadhead to Marshfield once you purchase a truck? Did you leave the Volvo at Gary and fly home? Do you know how much that cost you yet?
Can you elaborate a little on the process with Dan as you obtain a truck and bring it to Marshfield?
Thanks a lot for the info and I hope your runs keep staying long! I'm happy for ya!
P.S. What is a competitive rate when financing a truck these days? Things to look for?Last edited: Aug 5, 2009

I was lucky I left the Volvo in the Garland yard, Dan just went over the various things I will pay for such as prepass,quailcomm,$1000 escrow and the heavy vehicle tax. He explained the pay per mile and fuel surcharge. I got my truck with 10% down and 12.5% apr. I pay 1201 a month for 42 months compared to the nearly 2000 a month for a leased truck with Roehl.

So did Roehl help you get the truck or did you just do it on your owen?

ETCH Glad to hear your off to such a good start. I have heard I.C.s have a seperate FM and dont usually take the short haul stuff.
Good luck and keep us informed. I think I was next to the good Dr. Venture Thursday night at a "J" have you heard how he is doing? -
Is there a restriction as to what kind of truck an O/O can bring to Roehl?
