Going over my 14 hours in about 40 mins

Dude, it's Sunday. I don't get paid for the extra work. Wind will get it if he cares too. If not, I have nothing to prove. I know the rules and keep it legal. Just trying to help out the OP, but my wording didn't satisfy everyone.

 

I just found out the last company I run for got shut down for not paying fines related to their drivers running against their ELogs so take it for what its worth to you. I'm sure the drivers paid their fines, if not they are probably no longer drivers.

 

Picture this-- Crusty old trucker up on the witness stand being questioned by the young DOT lawyer who is grilling the driver because he blew his 14 hour clock.

Crusty old trucker:

"And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent delivering something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freight that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. Id say the leasing company had to pick the trucks up, if you are responding to my post? That company leased all of its equipment or either leased on owner ops.

I thought you went off the deep end with the original post. In context, it's completely different.

 

This happened to me this morning: got to reciever had 2 hours left on my 14, by the time i was unloaded i had literally 40 minutes left on 14 and nearest truck stop was 29 miles away....needless to say I made it to the TS with 6 minutes left on clock. I hate "living on the edge."
