Hey all well I am here in MO at the campus inn. So far not to bad been over to the main location for dinner, nice building! I took my road test in the simulator and passed that with an 80. Orientation starts tomorrow. I will keep everyone posted with my experience with Prime!

Nofear, I am strongly considering Prime for my school. Central Refrigerated & Stevens are possibilities, too. I like the Stevens equipment (if they really ARE using Kenworth's for new company drivers like the recruiter TOLD me...lol). I look forward to your posts from Springfield!...Tweed

TruckerMike, I posted this question in another thread, so please forgive me (I'm new!). Is a Freightliner different from a Kenworth like a Chevy is different from a Cadillac? About the same engine, but nicer interior/ride? Thx, Tweed.

ok so an update on orientation. Got thru the paperwork and interview, did the drug test and passed all that. Now comes the physical. I get told after the physical that I need to visit the main office for a follow up for an airflow test. I get there and low and behold the doctor tells me I most likely have sleep apnea. So downstairs I go to get approval for the sleep test. I am told take the test or get disqualified and go home. Well I didn't come here for nothing...so I have a 8pm bedtime tonight with the sleep specialist.
So now if I don't have sleep apnea its gonna cost me $130 for the test. If I do have sleep apnea then I get the CPAP machine and its gonna cost me $1900!!! Since I don't have medical insurance they aprroved me for no money down and its gonna cost me $55 a week til its paid off. $220 per month! Well I guess its for my health so what the heck might as well.
Drive safe everyone! -

nofear, i also have sleep apnea which i found out going thru primes orientation. this trust me will help you sleep. make sure that the tech fits you with a mask that will work for you. if you have facial hair i highly recommend the mask that fits directly into your nostrils.I have both and that one fits great. I sleep like a baby every nite.also if you have a laptop and a internet connection, you can directly download all your sleep info to sleeppointe. if you do have it, they will assign you a counselor someone you can talk to about any sleep issues that you have and if the machine is working properly.if you have any questions about this they are there for you or you can message me or pm on this forum.

for those of you that are thinking of being trained at other companies other than prime, consider this, their training pay is much more than most companies,so if you have a family to support that is something to consider.
