Honestly its not possible to be profitable w/out experience... Toss book smart's out window till you come back a few yrs later and want to try again. Not a smart remark, just trying to help.
Going to be an O/O !!!

Saying you like the "Kenworths with the big hoods", rather than the model (W900, T800, etc) is a dead give-away that you have Dom Pérignon expectations... but you possess an Old Milwaukee thought process...

I'm spit my Dr.Pepper out when I read this!!!
Hey I just bought and old bank building,I've always wanted to own my own bank,WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO WORK TODAY? HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I GET FOLKS TO BRING ME?lester Thanks this. -
sounds like you may have a little grit, but hoping you have funds put away for some VERY rainy days ahead of you,if you are prepared for that then by all means ENJOY yourself. Bc the first years of a rookie you will be dreaming of a Fast food job.UNLESS you have a niche! Fortunately I did when I started and the driving part was just a small part so I learned fast and it was always the last thing on my mind.
Life is short..do what makes you happy, everyone here is just frustrated with the industry is all...
Best of luck to you..ryan7892 Thanks this. -
To start off right as an O/O you need this http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4565553 , then get hold of a stainless steel reefer like this http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4558427.

That truck would work well. After all, he will be doing heavy haul after a few weeks, and when he hires drivers a couple months after that they will want to drive something nice.
FLATBED Thanks this. -
my friend, take a few years as a company driver too learn the industry. Many many people have done what you are about too do. and the fact you ask about what truck and freight too haul tells me you need some experience first. Just give it a couple years, trust me on this. You may make it fine, but it is the tough way too go.
