The problem stems from the fact the people expect a company to both hire them and provide training to get the proper credentials to actually do the job. Pretend you want to get a job as an accountant or lab tech. You would first go to school to get your education and then you would apply to a company with the basic knowledge to do the job.
New drivers aren't willing to do what it takes to get their own education and then search out a quality company. Instead, they are looking for the easiest, laziest way to get the "job". As long as this trend continues the company sponsored CDL mills will continue to prosper. The companies aren't the problem, the new drivers are.

So true, seems like it would be outright FRAUD to lie to people telling them they are going to be trained for a truck driving job - only to then find out after training that if you don't sign a lease and buy your own truck you would basicly be unemployed right? Seems like that should be illegal or something jesus.

Thank all of you for your posts. I haven't read all of them, but I have chosen to go with USA Truck instead. No first year company will be awesome, but I'll do better there than at CRE.
