Just be forewarned about about the burritos from Mercedes on Pecos.... it's just down the road from the Denver yard, and they often come to the yard itself... they're good, but you WILL get the squirts.

Question for OP. What is your starting pay and what will it be at the end of the year? How long is your training? Automatics, 10 spd, etc?

    Thanks.

Don't know their training program, but I can answer some of that. The 10 speed is almost exclusive... a total of five of the line haul trucks have automatics, and the FNGs aren't getting those, as they're all 2015 T680s. The Rocky Mountain Doubles trucks also have autos... FNGs aren't getting those, either, not to mention only drivers out of Denver and SLC run the RMDs.
There are a couple T700s with nine speeds... odds of getting one of those are extremely slim to the point where it's really not even worth mentioning they exist, especially since those trucks are just about at the trade-in point.
Being brand spanking new, you're most likely going to end up in a T660... the odds are in your favor of getting one with an APU, as the 660s are very quickly being traded in towards the mass quantities of T680s this company's purchased. There is a possibility of getting a T660, Volvo VNL640, or T700 without an APU, but, even if it happens, you'll be able to trade up soon enough, provided you don't prove yourself prone to tearing #### up (in some cases, you trade up even if you are).
And again, it's probably best if you eat the burritos from Mercedes when you're doing 34.
Driving for them, don't ask me... technically, I am a driver for them, as I went through orientation, got certified as a driver with them, etc., but I'm not employed by them as a driver. There are some on here who are who'd be better suited to tell you about that than I would be.

I work for navajo now. I'm on the dedicated Costco fleet but I drove OTR for a bit. This is a great company to work for. Trust me every job has their issues and you will probably have issues here. The main one I have coming up over and over again is their missing loads on my paycheck. You will have an account that you can log on with you driver code to check your pay weekly and it will show all your miles and trips and backhauls and I want you to look at it every Wednesday and keep track of all of your trip sheets so you can make sure your getting paid properly. I will say every time I had an issue they fixed it. One time I was missing 2 trips. About 1700 miles and they ended up cutting me 2 checks that week to make it up. I know payroll managers are people too and they make mistakes but yea just make sure you check it every Wednesday. All you have to do is enter your driver code and password. You can also check your pay on the Qualcomm. You can do that but always get online and check it because online will break it all down for you and you can see everything. The Qualcomm won't do that. If you ever have a problem and your dispatcher cant help you out of you feel like your getting no where call Steve Lusty. He is one of the top dogs here and he will get to the bottom of any problem you have. Like I said I've had some problems but with communication my dispatcher, terminal manager, and Steve Lusty has helped me solve all of them. Another big issue I have had is this. And don't get me wrong I understand where their coming from. I damaged a trailer and it cost the company $1300 to fix. I had my main trailer and my pup trailer touch because I made a turn to Sharp and I cut a 2 foot hole in the pup trailer. They only had me pay back $500. Navajo is self insured. So it was fair. I made a mistake and I paid for it. It was only $125 a week. But this week this is what happened. Like I said I'm on the Costco dedicated route but we do alot of backhauls. One of them is picking up beer for Budweiser I'm fort Collins Colorado and bringing it to salt lake city terminal for a local driver to deliver. Well my beer load was preloaded. Already sealed. I picked it up and brought it to salt lake. Back in March. A local driver delivered it. Well Wednesday I was missing $125 from my check. I got to the bottom of it and they said 26 cases we're damaged and charging me $374 for it. I didn't deliver it or load it. It was preloaded they said it had no load locks which is ######## because Budweiser won't let you leave the property without locks or Straps. Anyways like I said I talked to my dispatcher and terminal manager and Steve Lusty and they took care of me and gave me all my money back. So when not if you have an issue dont get to upset just remember communication you will get your problem taken care of. Good luck out on the road. I hope you enjoy navajo as much as I do.
