Yeah, the starting solo pay is now 30 cents a mile. Everybody has to start somewhere.....I'm excited actually!

The thing with Stevens is, if you run hard early on, and prove yourself dependable, you will run miles rather than sit. CPM is only half the equation.

    Good Luck.

I appreciate the information and I plan, as I'm sure every newbie says, to run as hard as possible and legal to make sure I am always on time. Being safe, on-time, and polite all seem of utmost importance to me.

Thanks again and maybe I'll see you out there one day KMac!

Gotta agree with kmac there. I did OK with Stevens. I did like the op is. Hired straight out of one of the affiliate schools and so on. Got my experience with them and jumped after around a year to another company. I got higher pay at the 2nd company but less miles so it pretty much was the same yearly pay. Trucks were better at Stevens condition wise though.

Hey, thanks for your response! Do you believe the Stevens training taught you to be a good driver? Did you enjoy the training?

Yes training was fine there I had previous experience running cross country with a car hauler so the driving aspect of it wasn't an issue for me personally. But learning all the stuff that goes with running an icebox was good. Still talk to my trainer every now and then too. Stevens as a company was not for me but it's great for someone starting out. I prefer to be captain of the ship and well Stevens tends to micro manage it's drivers in my experience but as I found out later most any big company does that. But as mentioned get your year or so with them clean and you kinda have your pick of places to go to
