Since you asked about the school and not about pay, miles, freight or anything else posted I'll tell you about the school and add a little personal info. I went through Swift school Sept 2012. The school teaches you what you need to pass the CDL test. Maybe a little more, but nothing less. Precision backing without prior trucks tire marks or wide open spaces with cones to guide you you'll learn with your mentor. The school will have you memorize the pre-trip but it's a point and describe test, not a pull the dip stick and look test. The school is designed for people who have never touched a commercial vehicle in their life. All this boards super truckers forget they were once "THAT GUY/GAL" who didn't know jack squat. They made rookie mistakes a plenty but will sit in the truck stop and howl at you on the CB for making the same mistake they made at first. Remember Swift is a starter company. For some it's a career company, like me, I started with Swift in 1995, stayed for 2 years then went local then changed careers. When it was time to come back out I started with Swift again. They have never treated me too bad, usually when I let an out of area dispatcher ride me like a rented donkey and run me out of hours in the middle of BFE with no facilities but that was on me for not saying NO. As my mentor use to say, "Make the DM work for you, not the other way around".

I turned in my final Swift truck this past weekend and am heading to a new company on Nov 10. Western 11, 14 days out, 2 home 100% drop n hook based here in Las Vegas. Lookign forward to the new adventure.

Good luck in you ventures OP
