I broke my contract early, hard to argue with $30/hr and O/T after 8 hours with a ltl company.

However, before I left I had slid into a dedicated Home Depot run they had in Mass right after I finished training which gave me nightly hometime. I probably would have stayed with TMC if I didn't, because the money on linehaul was way better than on the dedicated run. Had to basically run out your 14 every day with 3-4 tarped loads to clear 1300 gross on the dedicated run.

Note to self; stay away from their dedicated...unless it's their specialized (boat) div.

If you don't mind staying out 3 months at a time you will be fine with the boat division.

Farva, McUzi and Mr. Wavy Thank this.

No joke. Could always tell a boat driver in one of the terminals... old and overweight :-D

That's the life I'm about. I wonder how long it would take for an opportunity to join that div typically takes to become available.

From driver's that I am still in contact with they are looking for driver's. You need at least one year of safe driving. I went to them after 3 years running with tmc. When I had a load it was great, when I sat for 3 days waiting on a load and got a 0 dollar paycheck for the week I new it was time to jump ship and go back to line haul.

AH! Ya...I'm going to need some miles. Rather few consistent miles, than none at all if there's no other immediate option.

I'm starting training with TMC in Des Moines in a few weeks, so I'm way ahead of myself...but good to learn as much from others who have already been there, got their safe miles, then moved on.

I already have my TWIC, HME, and Fast North/South (and passport)...so I just need that CDL and safe year behind me.
