Right now I'm halfway through the refresher course and so far so good. I have also read a lot of negative garbage, which I'm not saying is true, but I haven't experienced any of it yet. But I will tell you one thing. There are a lot of people here in this class with such a poor attitude. It's like they don't want to be here. Very poor attitude. I guess that has a lot to do with it. I on the other hand have no complaints so far. But I will definitely keep you guys posted if anything comes up. Just go in there with the right attitude, do what you have to do, and everything will be just fine. You can either look at the glass as half empty or half full. No matter where you go, you're going to have to deal w/ the bu$%*&^!. That's life. Just face your challenges head on, and instead of complaining about it, do something about it, find a solution and take action. You get out what you put in and the instructors will notice who are the prospects and who are the bulls*^$$#)rs. Just give it your best, stay positive, and you come out on top. Good luck.

CR ENG will find every possible way to fire you if you don't wanna do team driving. if you want to go solo don't bother with them. only way you can go solo with em is with the lease deal

I work with yet another former CR England driver...and again...they were 'screwed'...couldn't get home to Grandmothers funeral...and the last week they were there, came out negative $700.00 on pay check...

Yes, in other words...they worked a week, and ended up owing England $700.00...

    Why do people go there?

They, CR England, will never change their ways, unless and until people stop going there....

It has nothing to do with 'thinking positive'...it has to do with their history and poor treatment of drivers...

We, those of us who have been around, are not making this stuff up...and you would be wise to listen....we're trying to look out for you and save you future pain....

$700 is nothing! Wait until they turn that truck in and England charges them over $6000.00 to get the truck back in selling condition! Whether it needs it or not! Just prepare yourself, it is coming. They will charge you for tires, wiper blades, oil and fluid change, lube (for you) carpet replacement, mattress replacement, air filters etc... Trust me they will do it.

Well, depending on if yer coming to the company or already working there, your statement about being fired for not wanting to drive team as a company driver isnt necessarily true. If you are a new hire, they wont put you in a OTR truck by yourself......unless you become a trainer. I really dont know how many students you are required to have on a weekly/monthly/annual basis to retain that status to be able to drive solo occasionally. The only way to do that, like I said a few posts ago, is to go regional, dedicated or intermodal. If you were already working for them before they changed it to mandatory company teams, then well, you are SOL if you want to remain an OTR company driver unless you train part-time or go dedicated, intermodal or regional and dont want to lease.

Did your son look into that before he got hired on? As of December, they are only keeping 250 company drivers at one time.

Yep, theres certainly alot of them there.....

And why wouldnt you? How do you know they're true? Gee, I guess its a good thing I didnt go to that haunted forum two years ago when I was lookin for a truckin' job or I wouldnt be were I'm currently at.

Soooo, right off the bat, its entirely England's fault? Hmmmmm.

No, irresponsible people who dont read and understand the contract are the ones filling the blender.....

Again, its never any of the "so-called" "innocent people's" fault....

    And you know this how?

You're kinda right on some of the trainers..... I think they oughtta have a little bit more experience before they go teachin other people. But then again, they do have some pretty descent trainers.... I know this because i had one.

If yer solo, this is possible, but not unnevitable. Alot of it has to do with lousy DM's and the lack of willpower to run hard and keep those wheels rollin.

No, yer not the bad guy, yer just run of the mill for the norm on this forum. But for most people, they are nowhere near a landmine field.

Again, if you dont read the contract then you have no one to blame but yourself to an extent.... Even if yer doin all you can and your DM isnt living up to his or her end of the deal and you let it go unnoticed, then again, you can only blame yourself.

Yeah, I wonder how many of them are true. Have you seen actual court documents about these lawsuits? All Ive seen about lawsuits is what Ive seen on the internet but if you want to believe everything you see on the net then more power to ya.

Yes, please do. But dont believe everything you hear. If you run that road, then you wont go anywhere.

Im confused....where they screwed because they couldnt get to a funeral or because they had a negative check? If its because of the check, how many miles did they run? What was the reason for the shoddy miles?

Dosent sound to me like they worked in that week.... When we "work", we usually take home 1200 to 1500 bucks a week.

Usually, its because no one else will hire them.

They probably wont but if you go there clueless, who really is a it fault?

It has everything to do with "thinking positive". Most "positive thinkers" get pretty far with even a company like England.

I like how you repeatadly blame the company for every thing that has gone wrong. Its rather funny, actually.

LOL. I can never stop getting amused at most of the "seasoned" drivers who keep using this claim. Just because you are seasoned, doesnt mean you know everything. Once more, I never heard any warnings about Englands evil ways and here I am 2 years later.

Honestly, if you really were trying to look out for them and claim to care as much as you say you do, then you would be trying to give them pointers for not falling victim to such things that have supposedly happened instead of telling them, "BEWARE!!!"

Thats why you take pictures for proof.

    That's like me saying...

'Go ahead and marry Bob...even though Bob has a history of domestic abuse, and likes to cheat, and lies a lot, and sometimes can be very cold and callouse...and may leave you standing and abandon you...but go ahead and marry Bob and I'll give you some tips on how to make it work'..

    Or I could just say..

'Hey, don't marry Bob at all...just stay away from Bob...you'll be better off in the end and won't have to worry about Bobs abusive, sly ways..'

    Now that's caring babe....

What are you talking about? If us waitin around forever's what yer gettin at, we didnt wait hardly at all. Thats why we leased so that we could get back out on the road as soon as possible.

First of all, "Bob" is one person. We're talking about one of the largest refrigerated carriers in the nation with nearly 3000 trucks and and close to 6000 trailers on the road and probably 200 or more employees not counting the drivers. Unless you know this "Bob" character yourself rather than of just what you think you know or have heard from someone else, like you are portraying that you know England as well as "Bob", your little analogy isnt the same thing, "babe".

Besides, how do you know "Bob" is really as bad of guy as people say he is? Did you actually witness him lying, cheating, beatin' up on and all the other allegations towards him? Just because somebody or a bunch of people say something, doesnt make it so. Yeah yeah, you can say that about me because you really dont have to take a word Im sayin for truth. But, what makes me different from the rest, I work for them. Have been since April of '09 with no reason to make stuff up.

I really shouldnt have to say it but unless you know for a fact that England is doing all these terrible things that so many people say they are doing then you really dont know. Funny thing is, I must be doing something right. I havent pissed them off. But you wanna know what the even funnier thing is?? I dont really feel that Im kissing their backside or bending over by not upsetting them. Im doing the job that I said I would when I signed the contract. But like Ive told other poeple in your unique position..... Go ahead and keep tellin people to be on their best lookout if they go to work for them because I really dont care who works for them and who doesnt. As much as you may think otherwise, Im not defending England. I just feel it my duty to say, "Hey, wait a minute!" when some of these outrageous comments come up because I just so happen to work for them. Im not speculating on something I read on the internet, nor am I passing along information that I got from someone else who probly received false information themselves.

    corneileous...

Calm down...so your experience with them is 'pleasent' thus far...

It doesn't mean that hundreds of other peoples experience with them have been...

King Kong...for whatever reason, fell for that one lady...and they had a good relationship...he protected her...

But in reality...King Kong ate and swallowed whole, hundreds of other ladies...for whatever reason...he ate them like adurbs....

Right now CR England is your 'King Kong'...their big, and you feel protected by them...and ya'll have some kind of relationship going on...

But that doesn't change the nature of the beast...or how it treats others...cause the horror stories just keep pouring in...ok...

I think I read this here before, or maybe heard it. Is it true on the there lease program that you are not allowed to move the truck unless you are moving freight, or for home time. Ie If you are stuck several hours waiting, and you want to head down to the truck stop to get some food etc, you are not able to.
