Hey guys! Well I'm done with my orientation and everything went smooth! We're with a Wal-Mart account. They don't seem to be slow here at all. Trucks are going in out all day! There's only 151 trucks running out of this terminal, thanks to me lol! They don't go past 155 trucks because they said that's where they seem to be most efficient at, and to keep everyone busy. Greatwide seems to a very good company for from what I've already seen, well I can only speak for this terminal. The only bad stuff I heard is from the C.R. England drivers, (Not because of Greatwide). They were just saying C.R. England isn't a good company and how they try to screw they're drivers as much as they can. They said I was very lucky to get in with Greatwide rather than C.R. England, to go with Wal-Mart. They were team drivers that I talked to. They are averaging 4000 miles a week out of this terminal they said. They just hate C.R. England, Idk why? My truck is a 2001 Freightliner Columbia, It's ok. I would rather have a pete, but I can't complain though, I'm just great full to have a job! Well I will keep you guys updated as time go's on. Oh I get to bring my truck home, so that's cool!

See you guys later! Thanks for all the comments!

Well I'm done with the training part. My trainer was excellent! He showed me everything and left nothing out! He was very detailed about every subject we covered! I feel very confident about going out on my first run. He was a great trainer! He was also extremely kickback dude, It felt like I've known him for years when we were talking. So I'll give you guys a update again when time goes on.

    Thanks!

At greatwide its always nice to be the new guy.. They actually treat you good the first 3 months. Out of the Terrell terminal the new guys run about double the miles as the older hands.. Luckily my tractor is paid for so I dont care.... Just letting you know had my best week in 3 months last week and it was about 1500 miles.. averaging about 800... Lots of loads just no miles and not much money here anymore.. But best of luck just get ready for it down the road.

Yes greatwide has different rules at each terminal.. and different rules on Monday than they do on Tuesday.. It depends on what mood your terminal manager wakes up with in the morning.

That's strange to hear? Every O/O I've talked to said they have always have miles and they love it here. Most have been here for 3 years, all averaging 2500-3000 miles a week. Since Greatwide has put their terminal here. Idk what's happing over there? Maybe we're just lucky I guess. We have the Reno to Las Vegas run which is 920 round trip and are allowed to do it 3 times a week if you want. I'm done with my first week and got 2200 miles. There are only 5-6 real Wal-Mart trucks that run out of this distribution center, the rest we handle. There are always loads going out of this terminal. Most are 500-600 mile round trip, but hey times that by 6 days and you got 3000 miles. Legally! I've been treated great so far! The thing I like the most is everyone is calls me by my name, because I hear a lot of crap that most companies treat you like a number. So I was pleased when everyone welcome's you by your name when you come into the door. So I think this is a great place for me to work. Thanks for your information though, I will keep it in mind.

Maybe your far enough away from Dallas where they dont overload ya with trucks.. or you may just have a good Tm.. I have been with um for 4 years and its not like it was.. but our avg load is 200 miles.. if you only get 1 load ever other day x4 its 800 miles
