I too am looking to go with Roehl, I guess it the lure of the GI Bill For me and everyone has good experience with them. I was going to go with Schneider, but this looks a little bit better. The only thing thats a little bit of a turn off is the out of pocket expense up front, But I think I'll be able to handle it. I'm going on terminal leave 20 July 07 from the Army and was looking to try to go to the school on the 23 July 07 but I don't think I'll have enough time to get everything strait to go to school so maybe I'll be looking at the next class on the 30th. Waiting on my recruiter to call me back tommaro about my application. Trying to get into schooling as fast as I can so I still have a check from the goverment for the next 53 days to pay for bills while I'm in school. Question for the people that have already been through. the recruiter told me about a furnished apartment for the time that you are there for $350. Did anyone use it or is there a cheaper hotel than that? Did anyone take a grayhound or did most just drive up there? Well for me its a lil over 500 miles to get there, So I was thinking on hopin on a bus to get there. Also I guess since I drove a freightliner in Iraq I'm not too woried about driving, But I am worried about being out there on the road and not knowing what I need to know about DOT regulations, weight stations, log books(maybe its the newbe in me) hopefully I'll get a good handle on it during schooling. That also was one of the draw backs for Roehl about not teaming (well unless you bring your team partner) so that I would have someone else to ask question too (2 heads are better than 1) If I get into a pickle. Right now I'm looking to go National Van. Any thoughts or comments would be helpful. thanks for reading and sorry its so long.

The place that they are referring to is the old dutch in I believe, and if that is where they put you, you will be good, it is furnished with a refridg/freezer microwave, coffee maker with filters, tv with remote and very basic cable I mean basic, like local stations national geographic, TLC (I think) HBO and a few others. it has a double bed, a couch, small table w/chairs, a full bath plus a few cabinets and drawers outside of bathrm with a sinkand small counter space. do not take a bus up there unless u arrange some sort of transportation with your recruiter, but if u have your own vehicle u can shop, and do restaurants that are close by, and the dutch inn is about 3-4 miles from roehls' yard.

Oh and another thing if u drove in Iraq you will be a big step ahead of everyone else on shifting and downshifting, and don't worry about DOT regs. in the 3 weeks you will be at school u will learn enormous amount of information and then when u are with a trainer you will learn even more, but u will never learn it all, cause things keep forever changing, I am still learning everyday been doing it nearly 6 months now.

Well not really on the shifting side cuz they were automatics. I do have the concept on how to make very tight turns. Looks like right now I'm slotted for 30 July class, the recruiter is sending the paperwork and I'm getting the physical setup. Almost on sham status here, will start clearing on 6 July from the Army, they give us 10 business days to clear post which you can do in I'd say 4 days. So all I have to do is show up for first formation and last formation no more details, no more CQ, no more DEFAC monitor, no more Funeral detail, no more being a babysitter for grown men (well some of them) time to go and start something new.

Whispers, you may want to bring an electric skillet with you, after trying to cook eggs in the microwave a few times I had to go buy one, and also in school one of the first things they preach is 3 point contact when getting in and out of the truck-remember that 3 point contact theory when getting in and out of that shower
slippppperrry bathtub!
