Waiting for a call telling me they found a mentor....

Note: Just got a call from Swift saying "....If I don't hear from you by 3:00PM we will have to part ways".....of course I find the message at 4:15PM on my cell phone. I don't know why he didn't call me on my alternate number especially after having to write the same information down on 15 different papers. I mean really I never received any calls from them, since my cell phone has been screwed up after Irene payed a visit to the cell tower and my town. I guess I will just search for another company now I gotta see what damage they have done to my DAC report.

 

Wannabe them calling you with that message sounds like a mix up. I would call and ask for that person's supervisor. By pass them.

My mentor told me there is a shortage of non smoking students. He is a non smoker. He's having problems finding students that don't smoke.

Time to light a fire under your butt any way you look at it! Too much time out of school and it is time to get a refresher. (3 months?)

Maybe call a different terminal? That's what Kinghunter had to do.

Does Werner (GASP!) hire in your area?

 

Yes, the Big Blue Screw does hire in my area on their site 5 spots are open in various divisions.

I've been out of school since the end of 09, Swift didn't require me to take a refresher only that I spent the full 6+ weeks OTR.

I don't smoke it was hard for them to find a mentor for me and I guess it's over and done with now.

I'm gonna try Roehl and US Xpress. Roehl pays more anyway .32CPM and US X says up to .39CPM but who knows exactly what it could be.

 

USEX is team for 6 months if that is still correct. I met one guy that was with Werner on the Sears dedicated in Columbia NJ. He was happy, making good money, home in MD frequently. Most of their people are dedicated. AFAIK OTR there pays less.


Too bad I couldn't hook you up with my old mentor. Last I heard he was having problems finding a decent student. Said they were really scraping the bottom of the barrel. He is based out of one of the California terminals. Lives in AZ.

He was an excellent trainer.

 

Swift is a joke they only look for drivers who will get them self fired or will quit within 6 months..
