Ok, I’m a recovering addict. Cocaine,Alcohol, and Marijuana were my drugs of choice. I’m mostly sober these days and haven’t touched coke or liquor at all for a while, still toke the THC occasionally but not driving commercially anymore and regularly going to group AA meetings.

Man I really don’t recommend pills of any kind for depression. And it’s no doubt that depression is what lead to my addictions, but in group the pill poppers have the most messed up stories, I’m talking guys that are heterosexual selling themselves to dudes for money to feed that addiction. My stories are kinda boring and lame compared to what I hear from some of the pill poppers and so many of them started with a legal prescription.

    GO FIND A GOOD NEUROLOGIST

DON’T DEPEND ON ANTIDEPRESSANTS THEY WILL LEAD TO SUICIDE

YOU NEED TO FIND THE NERVE DAMAGE YOU HAVE IN YOUR NECK

IF THE GOOD NEUROLOGIST CAN NOT FIND NERVE DAMAGE THEN GO TO A SPECIALIST WHO CAN EXAMINE YOU TO SEE IF YOU HAVE MENIER’S DISEASE OR WORST YET SUPERIOR SEMICIRCULAR CANAL DEHISCENCE.

OH AND STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM CANNABIS, IT WILL AMPLIFY THE PROBLEMS YOU HAVE,

You might as well have told your doctor you are suicidal and considering the benefits of joining a terrorist group. If you are frequently dizzy you cannot drive until it's fixed, no matter how sad it makes you. Doctors are not your friend. They are the people that can end your job with one sentence from you or from them.. Confide in true friends, not doctors with the power to take your license. Speak openly and honestly to doctors that have no idea you want to drive a truck and get your medical issues solved. Speak "professionally" with the doctors that do know you drive, or want to drive, a truck. No lawyer goes into court and announces in front of the judge and any jury that he is depressed and is wondering if ending it all is the answer. Doing so will not get him a better job, it will get him removed from court and maybe lose his license.

Driving a truck is a path to get a better life, perhaps, or see the country, or meet new people, etc. It's not the only path to any of those things, it's a job. You need to get your medical issue solved to be around and enjoy the future and to get almost any job. Don't turn each piece of bad news into the end of the world. It's not, it's just a detour to some other place. There is always hope and people that can help you find that hope.

Nobody needs $3000/month and a Toyota Tacoma to be happy. God didn't take anything from you. He offers a universe of opportunity and an ultimate guarantee of future life for ANYONE that puts their trust in Him. You have decided any future without $3k/mo and a truck cannot be for you. You can find people that make $3-6000 PER YEAR that see the country and are very happy. You may be closing your eyes to every opportunity except trucking. Those opportunities are there when you sleep and when you are thinking about other things. You just need to open up your horizon and think what other work provides what you like about trucking.

Do an internet search for Cognitive Based Therapy or CBT. It's a way for people to change their thinking and behavior without taking decades of therapy and taking pills. Other people have wanted to drive trucks and something stopped that from happening. All of those people found other things to do and they didn't focus on hurrying up and ending everything. You shouldn't be trying to decide all of your future right now. Focus on what to do over the next few days while you search for other jobs. Join a circus and travel the country and live in a box and be part of a "family". Become a merchant seaman and really see the world. Join the van life and see the country without dragging freight to industrial parks. You can work seasonally on the sugar beet harvest, for fisheries in Alaska, Work-camp for Amazon or other employers. Don't DECIDE that if you can't have trucking then you want NOTHING. Would you recommend a child that only wanted to eat chicken nuggets starve himself to death if there were no more chicken nuggets? Get outside of your own head and work any job while you get healthy and explore other opportunities.

Pain medication is very easy to become addicted to. Eventually the pain relief they offer declines and you forget how to live without them. Lots of people got addicted to prescription pain medication from legit doctors and then discovered the medicine sopped working for them, got too expensive, and switched to illegal drugs. NONE of those people planned to become an illegal drug addict. NOT WANTING to become addicted will NOT prevent drug addiction. Make chouices like the outcome is important.
