reynolds aluminum out of Chicago, we had a couple loads we'd pull of 50 foot extruded. Was interesting. Stuff would be put on the truck hot enough to brand the dunnage. Sucked tarping and strapping.

I put this spreadsheet together for pulling a step-deck.

Pretty much works for a flatbed too.

On your quantities for straps, it should be 12 minimum instead of 10 and possibly more as On mine I carry 1 strap per winch and thats 24. I also have a slider spread so I carry 10 - 2 inch ratchet straps also. I have never used all of them but they are nice to have in case you need to replace one. Also never throw away old straps. Cut them down to use as shorties or just cut them into like 18 inch pieces and then they can be used as padding

on straps and the ones with the (##), that's the qty to a package. I am looking at 20 straps to start with. It's 50 bungees to a package, 4 packages for 200 bungee cords.

As the straps got damaged or wore out, we'd cut them down and get 1x4 and make them into v-boards for shingles, insulation or other things that needed v-boards.

I would also take old mudflaps and cut them so you could use them for edge protectors too. Cut them 6" wide and 10" long with 4 1/2 " slits in them you can slip them onto your straps and toss them across the load. Stop the "rub" cuts on the straps from steel beams and such.

Gotcha now and yeah they are good for V-boards also. The list looks pretty good.

I like their chains and stuff but never heard anything bad or good about their brand of strap. Personally, I prefer Kinedyne and Ancra Brand and have used several brands. One in particular to stay away from is Pacific Cargo Control, It has to be the worst.

right now, it's for planning purposes. I was looking to see what the loads/truck/gear would haul for net weights and such. All that stuff adds up quickly.

Done up right, you can easily get a 50K payload set-up.

Instead of having both lumber and a steel tarp. You could buy a 24x16 and get the 4 foot skirts unless your going be hauling alot that requires 8 foot drops. Would cut down on room and weight some.
