ummmmm..... if it covers all those costs..... it's good freight.
Beechvtail Thanks this. -
Hard to believe people are still asking this kinda question with all the former post to read. Good freight is paid freight.
-
Cheap freight pays and it is far from good .
TruckingPhotographer, Les2 and RACEFAN Thank this. -
Not trying to be an ### but if you have to ask that question you are not even close to knowing enough to get your own truck !!
These are some of the worse times in trucking I have seen in 28 yrs of doing this.
There are more companies closing their doors than ever! High fuel and low rates are a sure way to lose your ###. And all it takes is one driver to cost you everything you and your whole family ever has or ever will make.
With that being said if this is what you really want to do come on in the water is fine !!
Don't worry about the sharks they can't eat us all !!!
RACEFAN Thanks this. -
Yung Trucker, Dude, this is real basic info, kinda' O/O 101. You need to figure out your expenses to operate your company, figure out your projected revenue from your company, have cash reserve or high limit credit cards at least, good business savvy, some good luck, good employees, good sources for repairs and most importantly, a very good knowledge of the industry, because, you will get walked on and squashed like a bug if you're not careful.
RACEFAN Thanks this. -
ok i need figures ppl...........i need examples all i see is words i know fuel is up i kno freight is low...........i still need figures..............
-
I need $1.15 per mile to break even.
that is paying myself ZERO !!!!!
$1.50 per mile would pay me .35 per mile to drive.............RACEFAN and Beechvtail Thank this. -
You ever think the ones that have the figures had to do a lot of work to come up with them ? Why should they just feed them out to you ?
You don't listen . Different operations need different revenue . Ever heard of a spread sheet ? If not don't even think about running your own trucks . I have to wonder about somebody that lists "gas" for an expense .Dr Demented and RACEFAN Thank this. -
man squash that............. how you gon down talk me??? Im young cat trying to learn from older cats who made mistake and can teach me or throw some tips..............
